SURAH AD-DAHR: 76 - (The Time)
With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful
(It
will be said to them,) "This is a reward for you, and
your effort has been appreciated." [22]
COMMENTARY:
[It will be said to them,] "This is a reward for you,
and your effort has been appreciated. 76:22). Allah will address
the inmates of Paradise once they have entered Paradise, and
will announce to them that the amazing bounties are granted
to them as a reward for their good deeds they had done in
the world, and their deeds have been appreciated by Allah.
These expressions will be made to them by way of congratulation.
For
the people of love, the Divine congratulatory expressions
will outweigh all the other blessings of Paradise put together.
The congratulatory words are a proof positive of Divine pleasure.

LOVE
ANOTHER FOR YOURSELF

He who loves himself loves another for himself. Every living
being loves his life. That is he/she has in their very nature
an attachment to live and dislike for death. Man wants that
he should live forever and that his qualities should gain
perfection. Nobody wants his destruction and loss of his
qualities. So there are several causes of love.
(1) The first cause of love is that a man loves his life,
then his limbs, then his properties, children, relatives
and friends. Man does not love these things only for them,
but for the fact they they help towards his long life and
attainment of perfection. Even after his death, he wants
to live through his heirs.
(2) The second cause of love is getting benefit. A man loves
one from whom he gets benefit as he is a servant of benefits.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said: 0 Allah, do
not allow a sinner to do good to me, as my mind may wish
to love him. This shows that mind turns towards the benefactor.
There
is difference between love for health and love for a physician.
Physician is the cause of health and therefore for the sake
of health, a physician is loved. Similarly education is
loved and also the teacher of education, but education is
loved for itself and the teacher is loved as he/she is the
cause of education. Similarly food and drink and money are
loved, but the former two are loved for themselves and the
third is loved as it is the instrument of getting food and
drink.
(3) The third cause of love is to love a thing for its quality
and not for the thing itself. A good figure is loved for
its beauty. Even the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam
said: Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty.
(4) The fourth cause of love is acquaintance with beauty.
The external eye appreciates external beauty. A man is beautiful
when all his organs are proportionately beautiful. When
his organs are not such, he cannot be called beautiful even
though his colour is light. This is called acquaintance
with beauty. So to get acquainted with perfection is a cause
for love.
Question. The matters described above are objects of five
external sense organs. Can beauty be appreciated other than
by external five senses?
Answer. It can be realised. Many a time colourless and figureless
things are called beautiful, such as the conduct of man
is beautiful, the knowledge of man is beautiful, the character
of man is beautiful. The meaning of good conduct is that
his knowledge, courage, God-fear, generosity, gentlemanliness
and other qualities are beautiful.
Most
of those qualities can be guessed not by external organs
but by inner light. These conducts and attributes are objects
of love and the one possessing these qualities is loved.
People love the Prophets, saints and founders of sects for
their qualities though they did not see them. Love reaches
to such high pitch that the lovers are ready sometimes to
dedicate their lives and properties for them.
These
internal qualities are divided into two kinds - knowledge
and power -. All qualities grow out of these two qualities
which cannot be gained by external senses. A man possesses
two things, external figure and internal nature. External
eye sees the beauty of external figure but the internal
secret nature is seen by the internal eye. He who is deprived
of this secret eye cannot see the secret beauty and hence
does not love it. He whose secret eye is strong can see
the internal secret beauties.

Barack
Obama has appointed an Indian economist linked to Hindu extremists
groups in India on his transition team. The economist, Ms.
Sonal Shah, has a relationship with the Hindu extremist group,
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). This militant group was held
responsible for the genocide against Muslims in the western
Indian state of Gujarat in 2002. Thousands of Muslims were
that killed and 100,000 left homeless.
MEANWHILE...
In an internet audio message, a man said to be Al–Qaeda second
in command, Ayman Al Zawahiri, has sent a warning to the new
US president, Barack Obama. He warned the US president-elect,
against sending more troops to Afghanistan and vowed to continue
attacks against what he called "criminal" America.
The message said Obama will fail if he followed the policies
of George Bush. Obama has announced that he plans to withdraw
troops from Iraq and send them to Afghanistan.
The
Saudi owners of the Sirius Star are in negotiations with Somali
pirates who have demanded a ransom for the super-tanker laden
with $100m of oil. Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, Prince
Saud al-Faisal, says it is not best to negotiate with hijackers
but the final decision rests with the owners of the ship.
The company which operates the Sirius Star has remained tight-lipped
about the claims of negotiations. The Sirius Star is now anchored
at the Somali pirate lair of Harardhere.
The
controversial Broadcast Amendment Bill has been handed President
Kgalema Motlanthe. It was passed by parliament despite strong
resistance from opposition parties. The bill empowers Parliament
to ask the President to fire certain members or the entire
Board as the need arises.
Jacob
Zuma, ANC president, says those who have broken away from
the ANC are like the donkey on which, according to the Bible,
Jesus rode into Jerusalem. Zuma, used this metaphor when he
addressed hundreds of Cosatu workers in a packed hall in Polokwane
as part of his early election campaign in Limpopo. He says
there is a story in the Bible about a "lucky donkey"
on whose back Jesus rode into Jerusalem. |

1 kilo chicken mince - ½ loaf brown bread; soaked + draned
- 1 cup frozen peas - ¾ cup sweet corn or ½ cup mix veg
- 1 green pepper - 1 red pepper - 1 onion - 1 potato - 1
½ tsp salt - 1 tsp fine dhana - 1 tsp fine jeeru - Lemon
pepper - Fine green masala to taste.
Method
Shred
all ingredients in magimix. Drain excess water. Add
remaining ingredients and mix well or put everything through
mincer. Fold
kebab mixture around lolly sticks, dip in bread crumbs and
bake in oven, freeze dip in egg & fry. Fry
in shallow oil on low heat. Serve with chips and freshly
baked rolls.

Remember the condition of a sleeping person. He sees in
a dream the sting of a serpent and feels also its pangs.
Even it occurs that he rises up suddenly with a loud shriek,
removes the sweat of his face and shifts elsewhere.
He
suffers pangs as a man in a wakeful state suffers pangs
of a snake-bite. You see his body in a peaceful state and
do not see any serpent around him. Yet it is a fact that
he sees the serpents and feels their sting but it is not
true in your case.- Therefore there is no untruth in the
saying of the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam.
You
know that a serpent itself cannot give you pangs, but the
poison which it throws in you gives you pangs. The poison
itself is not pang, but the reaction which is creates in
you gives you punishment. If the reaction is caused without
poison, it is sufficient as a punishment.
