THE
STORY |
EVEN
MORE PRECIOUS
--------------------------
A
wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious
stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveller
who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share
her food. The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and
asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation.
The
traveller left, rejoicing his good fortune. He knew the stone
was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But
a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise
woman. "I've been thinking," He said, "I know
how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope
that you can give me something even more precious: Give me
what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone." |

HEALTH
TIP |
WHEAT
GERM AND HONEY MOISTURISER
----------------------------------------
The sulphur found in garlic, onions, and asparagus will
aid in keeping the skin nice. Vitamin E and aloe are very
good to use topically on your skin. Drink minimal amounts
of soft drinks.
If
you have a skin irritation and suspect a food allergy, eliminate
suspected food and keep a food record to monitor your reaction.
Increase intake of raw vegetables. Not only high in fibre,
but naturally higher in vitamins, phytochemicals, and enzymes
than those that have been cooked, processed, or canned.

A
THOUGHT |
THE
SKIN
------------
The skin has mechanisms to cool down the body in hot weather:
The dermis is surrounded by very thin capillaries which not
only feed the skin, but also check the blood level within
it. When body temperature rises, the veins expand and help
the excessively warm blood to travel through the outer layer
of the skin, which is relatively cooler, and the heat is released.
Another mechanism that cools the body down is sweating: the
human skin is full of many tiny holes called "pores".
These pores reach as deep as the lowest layer of the skin
where sweat glands lie. These glands pass the water they take
from the blood through the pores and throw it out of the body.
The water thrown out uses the body heat to vaporise and this
causes coolness. |

his first day on the road.
"All I got were two orders."
"What were they? Anything good?"
"Nope," the salesman replied. "They were 'Get
out!' and 'Stay out!" |
