SURAH AD-DAHR: 76 - (The Time)
With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful

Indeed we have revealed to you the Qur'an through a gradual process. [23]
So, submit patiently to your Lord's decision, and do not obey anyone of them who is sinner or ungrateful. [24]
And pronounce the name of Allah morning and evening. [25]
And in some parts of night, prostrate before Him, and pronounce His purity for long times at night. [26] In fact these people love that which is immediate, and neglect a Heavy Day ahead .of them. [27]

COMMENTARY: Having mentioned the general blessings of the inmates of Paradise, special blessings that are conferred on the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam are listed:

Firstly, the blessing in the form of the revelation of the Qur'an is mentioned. The Holy Prophet allallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam is, then, directed that the opponents and obdurate non-believers will obstinately reject the message and persecute him. So, he is to submit patiently to Allah's decision, and he should not obey any sinner or ungrateful person.

Secondly, he is commanded to pronounce the name of Allah, and worship Him day and night. Further, he should prostrate before Him, during the night, and pronounce His purity for long times at night. This pre-occupation will serve as a remedy for the non-believers' persecution. Towards the conclusion of the passage, the verse shows the reason for the persistence of the obdurate infidels. These ignoramus are intoxicated with the fleeting pleasures of this world, and have neglected the Hereafter, whereas if they had pondered in their own being or existence, they would have recognised and understood their Creator and Maker.

The call of Ebrahim Alayhis Salatu Wasallam marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of our nation. It draws a line of separation between one current of history and another. The whole of mankind gets divided into two opposing camps that remain permanently in a state of war with each other. With it the old era ends and the new era begins. Ebrahim Alayhis Salatu Wasallam was favoured by Almighty Allah Subahanahoo Wata'ala with an eternal call and an everlasting Ummah. It was ordained for all times that the Ummah of Nabee Ebrahim Alayhis Salatu Wasallam will shoulder the responsibility of carrying out the struggle against the forces of evil and perform the task of preaching and the propagation of faith.

The Divine duty of guiding humanity to its ultimate destination to the Path of Seerathal Mustaqeem and protecting the light of faith against the onslaughts of darkness and sensuality was now going to be the Divine duty of the Ummah of Allah’s Beloved Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam. During the Islamic era and the ministry of our Beloved Nabee - Rahmatul Liel Ala' meen, the House of Almighty Allah Rabbul Ala'meen (The Baitullah in Makkah) became the permanent home of religious guidance and true spirituality for so declares Almighty Allah Subahanahoo Wata'ala in verse 97 of Surah Al-Ma'ida:

"Allah made the Ka'ba, the Sacred House, a means of support for mankind, as also the Sacred Months, and the animals for offerings, and the garlands that mark them: That you may know that Allah has knowledge of what is in the heavens and on earth, and Allah is Knower of all things."

Here the cold cellar of the heart is warmed up again, and the World of Islam rallies to it, year after year, to pay the tribute of Muhabbat and complete submission and give a marvelous demonstration of its attachment to this wonderful pillar of faith. The greatest of rulers, plutocrats, scholars, commoners and divines perform theirTawaf around it in an exalted state of feeling but not unbounded by reason and awareness. They furnish a practical proof of the fact that they are united in spite of the things that apparently divide them. Though the Muslims are scattered all over the world and divided into various races and nationalities, they become one at a particular point where all their differences disappear and they are moulded into a compact whole.

The life of the Hujjaj during the Hajj consists totally of faith, belief, worship, Tawaf and Sa'ee, and their only halts are at Mina, Arafat and Muzdallifah where the rites of the Hajj are performed. They are constantly on the move, advancing towards their goal, meeting new people, traversing new paths and discovering new dimensions. The journey within a journey continues till the day they depart from this Doonya to meet their Supreme Maker. Hajj plays a vital role in the protection of the spiritual roots of the Muslim Ummah. Nothing is more precious then keeping the Islamic faith safe from pollution, confusion and distortion than this Glorious annual congregation that we undertake exclusively for the Pleasure of none other than Allmighty Allah Subahanahoo Wata'ala. read more

Zimbabwe has declared a state of emergency after the cholera outbreak claimed 565 lives. The country is also appealing for international aid to tackle the epidemic. Health Minister David Pari-ren-yatwa confirmed the state of emergency in the state run Herald newspaper this morning.

At least four people have been killed in renewed clashes in Karachi between Urdu-speakers and Pashtuns from northwest Pakistan. The clashes broke out on Saturday, leaving at least 40 people killed and dozens more injured, according to police and hospitals.

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has warned the UN it must be prepared for the possible arrest of Omar Hassan al-Bashir, president of Sudan, on genocide charges over the Darfur conflict. Louis Moreno-Campo told the UN Security Council that if the court decided to issue a warrant for al-Bashir's arrest there should be "united and consistent action" to ensure its execution.

The Congress of the People has come out against the implementation of affirmative action. COPE interim chairperson Terror Lekota says that the party is not against economic empowerment, but the way it's implemented as it discriminates against whites and in some cases Indians & Coloureds. Lekota says people must be given work despite their colour or political affiliation.

Line 24 muffin tins with paper cases. Cream butter, sugar, essence and colouring until light & fluffy. Add eggs gradually, beating well after each addition. Fold in sifted flour baking powder salt and coconut. Spoon half the batter evenly into 24 paper cases. Top centre of each muffin with half a teaspoon chocolate spread. Spoon remaining batter evenly over chocolate spread. Bake at 180 for about 25 minutes until done. Decorate.

The student struck a deal saying, "I will pay your fee the day I win my first case in the court".

Teacher agreed and proceeded with the law course. When the course was finished and teacher started pestering the student to pay up the fee, the student reminded him of the deal and pushed days.

Fed up with this, the teacher decided to sue the student in the court of law and both of them decided to argue for themselves.

The teacher put forward his argument saying: "If I win this case, as per the court of law, the student has to pay me as the case is about his non-payment of dues.

And if I lose the case, student will still pay me because he would have won his first case.

So either way I will have to get the money". Equally brilliant, the student argued back saying: "If I win the case, as per the court of law, I don't have to pay anything to the teacher as the case is about my non-payment of dues. And if I lose the case, I don't have to pay him because I haven't won my first case yet.

So either way, I am not going to pay the teacher anything".

And so, this is one of the greatest paradoxe's ever recorded in history.
