HADITH/SAYINGS OF MUHAMMAD
SALLALLAHU ALYHI WA SALLAM

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "A man set out to visit a brother (in Faith) in another town and Allah sent an angel on his way. When the man met the angel, the latter asked him, "Where do you intend to go?'' He said, "I intend to visit my brother in this town.'' The angel said, "Have you done any favour to him?'' He said, "No, I have no desire except to visit him because I love him for the sake of Allah, the Exalted, and Glorious.'' Thereupon the angel said, "I am a messenger to you from Allah (to inform you) that Allah loves you as you love him (for His sake)" [Muslim]

Commentary: This Hadith points out the following:
1. The great merit of visiting Muslims for Allah's sake.
2. The bond of brotherhood in Islam is much stronger than the bonds of blood relationship and worldly interests and, therefore, comes before them in preference.
3. Whoever loves someone for Allah's sake, Allah will love him in a manner that suits His Majesty.

RECIPE

ALMOND CHICKEN
------------------
Ingredients
1 chicken cut into 10 pieces - 2 tblsp ghee - Handful dried prunes - Handful of blanched almonds - 2 tblsp tomato paste or puree - 1 tblsp crushed garlic - 2 tsps chilli powder - ½ tsp tumeric - 1 tsp ground - white pepper - ½ tsp ground cardamom - Salt to taste - 1 tblsp lemon juice - Coriander leaves for garnish.

Method
1. Mix tomato paste, ghee, chilli powder, tumeric, pepper, cardamom, salt and lemon juice with chicken.
2. Heat ghee in pot and fry prunes and almonds for teo minutes. Remove from ghee and set aside.
3. Add chicken to ghee, braise well lover heat and cook until chicken is tender.
4. Garnish with prunes almonds and coriander leaves.
5. Serve with butter naan.

WHISPERS OF SHAYTAAN

Stay in your bed, don’t make a fuss.
Your prayers can wait; give in to your nafs. (1)

What! Go to the mosque, the path you’ll pave?
Don’t bother, think of the gas you’ll save.

Why go the extra miles to be kind?
Don’t share that smile, they won’t mind!

Listen to your parents, why should you?
You’re big enough, don’t let them tell you what to do!

Don’t look at those orphans, what could they need?
You have your own problems, and family to feed.

Wear good Hijab? Oh me, Oh my, you’ll be targeted as a Muslim and put to shame.
Just wear no makeup, and dress simple and plain.

Don’t worry about Jannah, your place is reserved.
I promise you’ll get all you deserve.

Preach about Islam, and be nice?
Listen to me, and take my advice!!!

Don’t fast during Ramadan, you’ll feel dead.
Don’t go for Hajj, the heat you’ll dread.

Why give charity, or feed the poor?
Don’t do it I say, They’ll just ask for more.

Don’t visit the Muslims, they’ll bite your back.
Don’t stop your work for prayer, it’s money you lack.

Then he makes you hoard your wealth.
He thinks while he talks, and laughs to himself.

You take me as your friend, and don’t give me a fight.
I’ll take you to hell to gain respite.

On the judgement day we will meet.
Allah’s plan we can not defeat.

Shatan thinks and thinks of more to say.
Say A’ oothoo billahi, and make him run away.

Dear believer, don’t let Shaytan put you to the test.
You can overcome him, just do your best.

THE CROW AND THE RABBIT

A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A Rabbit asked him, Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?

The crow answered: Sure, why not. So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested. A fox jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.
