HADITH/SAYINGS OF MUHAMMAD
SALLALLAHU ALYHI WA SALLAM |
Abdullah
bin `Amr bin Al-`as (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Prophet SALLALLAHU ALYHI WA SALLAM
said,
"(Of the) major sins are: to ascribe partners to Allah,
disobey parents, murder someone, and to take a false oath
(intentionally)". [Al-Bukhari]
Commentary:
There are many more major sins which have been enlisted and
discussed at length by Muhaddathun in independent volumes,
such as Az-Zawajir `an iqtraf-al-Kaba'ir, Kitab-al-Kaba'ir
by Adh-Dhahabi. This Hadith mentions some of the major sins
enumerated by the Prophet SALLALLAHU ALYHI WA SALLAM
on a particular occasion. We can also say that the sins mentioned
here are some of the most serious among the major sins. |

A
MAN'S TRAIL
--------------
This is the story of an average human
From his story there is so much to learn
"I
work through life working day and night
Let me tell you of my miserable plight
Before that, let me thank Allah Most Merciful too
That's why I'm sharing my story with you
From
young I was told I had to be the best
I must learn to score for my exams and tests
I studied hard to be the top in class
So that my friends will respect me with all the fuss
In my youth days, I was actually insecure
So much temptations and many are impure
I prayed sparingly but it didn't help me
Why couldn't I feel that Allah was watching me?

THAT
BEE STUNG ME!
---------------------
A man comes running to the doctor shouting and screaming
in pain. "Please, doctor, you've got to help me. I've
been stung by a bee!"
"Don't
worry," says the doctor. "I'll put some cream
on it."
"You will never find that bee. It must be miles away
by now."
"No, you don't understand!" answers the doctor.
"I'll put some cream on the place you were stung."
"Oh!
It happened in the garden behind my house."
"No,
no, no!" says the doctor getting frustrated. "I
mean on the part of your body the bee stung you."
"On
my finger!" screamed the man in pain. "The bee
stung me on my finger and it really hurts!"
"Which
one?" the doctor asked.
"How
am I supposed to know? All bees look the same to me!"
