HADITH/SAYINGS OF MUHAMMAD (SAW) |
Al-Bara'
bin `Azib (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard
the Prophet (PBUH) saying: "A mother's sister is equivalent
to (real) mother (in status)". [At-Tirmidhi]
Commentary:
This Hadith tells us that one should be as respectful to one's
aunt (mother's real sister) as one is to mother, as it is
a virtue as well as "a form of maintaining the ties of
kinship".

TORMENT
NOT
-------------
Torment not the heart
When you profess knowing me
In all splendour
That I granted you in favour
So you may travel the distant
Worlds
and find solace
In love uncharted, yet within
The uncounted days
You count them like coins
In a jar, counting as if
The coins be hardened
Like mountains of Qaf.
Torment
not the heart when
You wonder why I never
Called when contemplating
You shudder at the thought of
Never belonging to one safe I,
Yet you crave understanding, you
Crave
belonging yet you
Spike your words with
Much disdain hoping much
That I would smile and bring
You in, like a vagrant in need
Of shade.
Torment
not what you do not know,
And splice not the heart
That has surrendered itself to one. |

THE SMILE |
WEEKEND
BLUES
-----------------
A man left work Friday afternoon, but, instead of going home,
he stayed out the entire weekend, hunting with the boys and
spending his pay cheque without telling his wife.
When
he appeared at home, Sunday night, he was confronted by his
very angry spouse, who barraged him for two hours with a tirade
of yelling.
Finally,
she stopped the nagging and simply said to him, "How
would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?"
To
which he replied, "That would be fine with me."
So, Monday went by and he didn't see his wife. Tuesday and
Wednesday came and went with the same results.
On
Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could
see her a little out of the corner of his left eye. |
