MANKIND'S
NEED FOR ISLAM
by Imâm al-Haram Husayn ibn 'Abdul 'Azîz Aal Sheikh

All praise is due to Allâh, Lord of all the worlds, may peace
and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allâh, his household
and companions.
Fellow
Muslims! Fear Allâh in your words and deeds, for “Whoever
fears Allâh, and keeps his duty to Him, He will provide him
a way out (of every difficulty), and He will provide him from
sources he could never imagine.” (At-Talâq 65: 2-3)
Dear
Muslims! The greatest blessing that Allâh bestowed on mankind
is His sending of Muhammad – peace and blessings be on him
– with a pure religion that brings all good to mankind and
protects them from all that is evil through its principles
of justice, brotherhood, freedom and peace.
Brothers
in Islâm! The faith that the Prophet established its pillars
is the source of all good and felicity for those who follow
its guidance. This faith is the pure tree with ripe and everlasting
fruits.
Allâh
says, “See you not how Allâh set forth a parable? – A goodly
word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its
branches (reach) to the sky. Giving its fruits at all times
by the leave of its Lord…” (Ibrâheem 14: 24)
Islâm
is the treasure of all good for mankind without which they
will go astray and live in misery and loss. read

Allah

and force but with his will. Whatever Allah wished has happened

that Allah has power over everything. Verily, Allah's knowledge

A
military jury has sentenced the former driver of Osama bin
Laden, the al-Qaeda leader, to five and a half years in prison
for supporting terrorism. However, the US government has previously
argued that it has the right to continue to hold Guantanamo
detainees as "enemy combatants".
Police
in Mauritania have fired tear gas on about 100 demonstrators
calling for the reinstatement of the country's toppled president,
Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi. The president was taken
into custody by members of the military who declared a coup
d'etat.
The
Indian government is reportedly ready to negotiate in an attempt
to quell rising tension in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kashmir valley is currently facing shortages of food,
fuel and medicine due to rising Hindu-Muslim tensions, local
residents say.
Pakistan's
ruling coalition has announced it will begin impeachment proceedings
against Pervez Musharraf, the Pakistani president. Asif Ali
Zardari, the leader of Pakistan's ruling coalition, made the
announcement at a news conference in Islamabad.
The
Mail and Guardian has named the person who provided the information
alleging that President Thabo Mbeki took a 30 million rand
bribe from a German arms compnay. Corruption-busting ex-spy
Mhleli "Paul" Madaka was the source. Madaka died
in a car accident after speaking out. |

ALL
BRAN RUSKS

Ingredients
2 ½ cups all bran flakes - 1 cup sour milk - ¾ cup sugar –
brown or white - 1 tsp baking powder - 500g self raising flour
- 250gr butter - 1 egg beaten - 1 tsp salt.
Method
On low heat melt butter and sugar. Beat eggs and sour milk
adding sugar. Add to dry ingredients. Pat in oven tray and
slice. Bake at 180c for 35 mins. Remove from oven and slice
into bars. Return to oven and bake at 100c to dry out. |

| COOKING TIP |
When
you bake a cake you are instructed to flour the cake pan so
the cake won't stick. Instead of doing that save some of the
dry cake mix and use that to flour the bottom of the pan.
You won't have that white mess on the bottom of your cakes. |

| A THOUGHT |
THE
SAGE AND THE PEACOCK
------------------------------------
A sage went out to till his field and saw a peacock busily
engaged in destroying his own plumage with his beak. At
seeing this insane self-destruction, the sage could not
refrain himself and cried out to the peacock to forbear
from mutilating himself and spoiling his beauty in so wanton
a manner. The peacock then explained to him that the bright
plumage which he admired so much was a fruitful source of
danger to its unfortunate owner, as it led to his being
constantly pursued by hunters, whom he had no strength to
contend against. Accordingly decided on ridding himself
of it with his own beak, and making himself so ugly that
no hunter would in future care to molest him.
The
poet proceeds to point out that worldly cleverness and accomplishments
and wealth endanger man's spiritual life, like the peacock's
plumage. But, nevertheless, they are appointed for our probation,
and without such trials there can be no virtue.

A lawyer defending a man accused of burglary tried this
creative defense: "My client merely inserted his arm
into the window and removed a few trifling articles. His
arm is not himself, and I fail to see how you can punish
the whole individual for an offense committed by his limb."
"Well
put," the judge replied. "Using your logic, I
sentence the defendant's arm to one year's imprisonment.
He can accompany it or not, as he chooses."
The
defendant smiled. With his lawyer's assistance he detached
his artificial limb, laid it on the bench, and walked out.
