IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE BENEFICENT THE MOST MERCIFUL
Whereas
for the one who feared to stand before his Lord, and restrained
his self from the (evil) desire, [40]
Paradise will be the abode.
[41]
COMMENTARY:
The
third and the highest level of suppression of the base self
is that by abundant dhikrullah [remembrance
of Allah] and constant Mujaahadah
[spiritual struggle and endeavour against the evil passions]
and Riyaadhah [ascetic discipline],
one's self (nafs) is so much cleansed
and purified that the desires that tempts him to evil are
totally eliminated.
This is the special stage of Wilayah
[Divine friendship], which in Sufi
Terminology is called Faani-fillah and Baaqi-billah. |

Durban
police have shot dead a hijacking suspect, and wounded two
of his accomplices in Pinetown. The police say they were tipped
that a group of armed men were about to rob a company in the
area.
Japan
will today order its ships supporting US-led forces in Afghanistan
to return home. They have been supplying fuel to US and other
forces operating in Afghanistan. That Japanese legislation
allowing this ends today.
Researcher
with the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), Johan Burger,
says closing specialised police units may result in a loss
of informer networks, expertise and team spirit.
A
human bomber rammed his explosive laden motorbike into a bus
carrying Pakistani air force officials today. He killed at
least at least eight and wounded 40 others. The incident took
place in the Sargodha district of central Punjab province.
A Taliban military commander in Afghanistan, Mullah Mansour
Dadullah, has denied any links between the Taliban and Iran.
The message was sent as a video with Mansour answering questions
by an unknown interviewer.
Oil
prices hit fresh record highs yesterday at $94 per barrel.
The fresh historic peaks came after the US Department of Energy
(DoE) announced on that oil stocks fell by 3,9-million barrels.

SEAFOOD
AKHNI
Ingredients
1 kg mixed seafood (prawns calamari kingklip crayfish
tails) - 3 large onions finely sliced - Cooking oil for frying
- 200grm mushrooms chopped - 1 Green pepper seeded and chopped
- 1 Red pepper seeded and chopped - 750ml uncooked rice -
Salt and Tabasco sauce to taste.
Marinade
60ml peri-peri sauce - 10ml grouched garlic - Salt
& freshly ground pepper to taste - 5ml Tabasco sauce.
Method
Combine marinade ingredients in a mixing bowl add
mixed seafood and marinate for 1 hour. Fry onion in heated
oil until golden 5-10 mins. Add mushrooms and fry a further
5 mins or until softened. Remove onions and mushrooms from
pan and set aside. Fry peppers in oil for 5 mins remove from
pan and set aside. Transfer seafood and marinade to frying
pan and fry for 15 mins. Meanwhile boil rice in salted water
until tender about 20 mins. Drain and rinse the rice. Layer
ingredients in a large saucepan as follows:
First rice, then onions and mushrooms (save some onion for
garnish) then peppers and finally seafood mixture. Continue
layering until all the ingredients have been used up. Sprinkling
each layer with a little salt and Tabasco sauce. Steam covered
over medium heat for 30 mins. Garnish with reserved onions.
Serve on its own or as an accompaniment to Prawns curry. |
