The human nature means the soul and the body. A man without a spiritual life is no longer a man. Equally, whoever proclaims that spiritual training can delete the materialistic demands of that body is a devil in the clothes of a saint. Can he give up sleeping? Is he ready to destroy his body and to be a soul flying in the world of ideals?

The Noble Quran says: "O you humankind, a proof has already come to you from your Lord; and We have sent down to you an evident light. So, as for the ones who believed in Allah and firmly adhered to Him, then He will soon cause them to enter into a mercy from Him, and Grace, and will guide them to Him on a straight path"

This Grace and mercy from Allah Al-Mighty is true for the believers in life and in the day after. The heaven is the endless grace and mercy. It is not only a spiritual heaven but the materialistic pleasures are innumerable there. Equally, in our life Islam does not forbid materialistic pleasures, but Islam is a unit of enjoying our lives and, more important, obeying our God and creator. Thus, without Islam there can never be a balance and harmony between the soul and the body. Who do not believe in that can do a comparison between Islam and other doctrines and the result is undoubtable.

The Cat and the Rooster
A Cat pounced on a Rooster, and looked for some good excuse for making a meal of him, for cats normally don't eat roosters, and she knew she shouldn't. At last she said, "You make a great nuisance of yourself at night by crowing and keeping people awake; so I am going to make an end of you." But the Rooster defended himself by saying that he crowed in order that men might wake up and set about the day's work in good time, and that they couldn't do without him. The Cat replies "That may be, but I'm not going without my dinner". She killed and ate him.

MORAL: The want of a good excuse never kept a villain from his crime.

It is reported of 'Ali bin 'Abi Tãlib RA that someone who was indebted came to him and said: I am unable to pay my debt so help me. He said: Shall I not teach you a few words the Messenger of Allah taught me, if you had the like of a mountain (Seerin) of debt Allah would fulfil it on your behalf? Say: 'Allãhumma kfinee bihalãlika `an harãmika, wa 'aghninee bifadhlika ` amman siwãka. O' my 'ilãh make me with what you have made lawful needless of what You have made unlawful, and make me with your benevolence independent of all others.

MADRESSAH ISLAAMIYAH ACTONVILLE
RENOVATION PROJECT

As-salaam-u-alaikum

Dear Brothers and Sisters

We are in the process of refurbishing the Madressah Islamiyah Actonville premises and require your urgent assistance.

This madressah is special to all residents of Actonville as most of us, our beloved children or close relatives have during some stage over the last 21 years passed through her doors. Yes, it has been 21 years since this Madressah has opened her doors to us and now requires an urgent refurbishment in order to sustain her existence. Approximately 1200 children pass through these doors daily and one can only but imagine the toll that such a higher volume of little ones have on the premises.

I am sure many of us can recall the days before, when classes were only conducted during the afternoons at the various schools in town. The vision of our elders and their efforts culminated in the new Madressah premises being constructed to serve the Greater Benoni community. Al-hamdulilah, the growth of the community has seen new Masjids being built in Actonville, Lakefield and McKenzie Park over the last two years. The root of this passion and dedication to this religion of Islam, could only be credited to us having been given a solid foundation at an excellent religious institution.

We are looking at refurbishing all 34 classrooms and the 4 toilet / ablution blocks as phase 1 of the project. The current monthly income derived from madressah fees and lillah collections is barely sufficient to cover running expenses let alone undertake a refurbishment of any sort.

The Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says he is ready to release 250 Palestinian prisoners as a show of support for Mahmoud Abbas, the Fatah leader.

Today marks the 52nd anniversary of the Freedom Charter adopted in Kliptown, Soweto, in 1955. The ANC, South African Indian Congress, South African Coloured People's Organisation and Congress of Democrats adopted the Charter as their policy document. RECIPE
MINCE LASAGNE
FUN WAY OF COOKING
Ingredients
1 big onion – sliced - Oil - salt - Less then ½ kg mince - Red/green masala - Grated tomato - ½ cup frozen mixed vegetables - ½ tray mushrooms - A little butter - 2 tablespoons tomato sauce - 1 tablespoon worcestor sauce - 1 tablespoon soy sauce - ½ box lasagna sheets - White sauce - Grated cheese.

Method
Saute onion in oil till it softens. Add mince, salt and cook a little. Add both masalas and let cook a little further. Add mix vegetables and tomato and cook do not dry out. Add the cooked mushrooms. Remove from stove and add all the sauces and mix well. Boil lasagna sheets and drain. Rinse in cold water. In an oven proof dish, layer with mince mixture followed by a layer of lasagna and then white sauce ending with mince mixture and white sauce on top. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake in pre heated oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and place on warm stove plate for 10 minutes before serving.

White Sauce: Melt 1 tablespoon butter, add 2 tablespoons maziena or flour & let braise quickly. Add 1 to 1 ½ cups milk gradually, stirring continuously & quickly to avoid lumps. Add salt & pepper and keep on stirring until sauce is ready.

COOKING TIP
Thaw meat and poultry in the refrigerator or in a microwave oven, never at room temperature. Cook thawed meat and poultry immediately.
