FUNERALS - MAYYITS
Continued… Surah An-Nazi'at: 79:
(Those Who Pull Out)
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE BENEFICIENT THE MOST MERCIFUL

Then manage (to do) everything (they are ordered to do,) [5]

COMMENTARY: The fifth quality of the angels: In other words, the last task of these angels of death will be as follows: Those who are commanded to reward and comfort the deserving souls, will gather means of reward and comfort for them; and those who are commanded to punish and cause pain to [the evil souls] will organize means for that.

THE MESSAGE
SPECIAL FOCUS – RABIUL AWWAL
BLESSING FOR HUMANKIND
Muhammad SAW & Goodwill
---------------------------------
He was a good exemplar to those who subscribe to a harmonious society. Islam exhorts people not to violate the rights of others and injure their interest, but should positively cooperate with each other and establish a mutual relationship and social cohesion.

To safeguard the unity and solidarity of the nation and to achieve the welfare and wellbeing of the community, we have been enjoined to avoid mutual hostility, social dissension, backbiting one another, and hurting others with the hand or tongue.

Islam as brought by the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam exhorts Muslims to visit the sick, to help the needy and assist the weak. Islam makes no discrimination on the basis of race, colour or language. Its appeal is to the entire humanity.

Women
The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam brought changes for the betterment of women. Women as recognized by Islam as a full and equal partner of man in the procreation of humankind. He is the father, she is the mother and both are essential for life. Her role is no less vital than his. By this partnership she has an equal share in every aspect; she is entitled to equal rights; she undertakes equal responsibilities, and in her there are many qualities and so much humanity as there is in her partner.

She is equal to man in bearing personal and common responsibilities and in receiving rewards for her deeds. She is equal to man in the pursuit of education and knowledge. Islam enjoined the seeking of knowledge upon Muslims. It makes no distinction between man and woman.

She is entitled to freedom of expression as much as a man is. Her sound opinions are taken into consideration and cannot be disregarded just because she is a female.

Islam grants woman equal rights to contract, to enterprise to earn and posses independently. Her life, her property, her honour are as sacred as those of man.

Islam has also given women a share of inheritance. Before Islam, she was not only deprived of that share, but was herself considered as property to be inherited by men.

DUA (PRAYER)
BISMILLA ALLATHEE LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUWAR RAHMAANUR RAHEEM ALLAHUMMA ATHHIB ANNY ALHAMM WAL HUZN. In the Name of Allah, The Being besides Whom none is worthy of worship, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful. O Allah! Remove me of all worries and sorrow.

BENEFIT: After Salaah Rasulullah SAW would pass his right hand over his blessed head and read this Dua.

AND… FOR THE KIDDIES
Allah Azza Wajal loves Sincerity

Abdullah Ibn Umar Ibn Al-Khattab narrates: I heard the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying: “Three men from among those who were before you, set out together until they reached a cave at nightfall and entered it. A big rock rolled down the mountain and closed the mouth of the cave trapping them within. They said (to each other): “Nothing can save you from this rock except making Dua to Allah by referring to the righteous deeds which you have done.”

So, one of them said: “O Allah! I had old parents and I never fed my family (wife, children etc.) with milk before them. One day, I was delayed in returning due to my efforts in searching for pastures, and I came back home late at night while they had already fallen asleep. I milked the sheep for them and took the milk to them, but I found them sleeping. I disliked giving the milk to my family before them. I waited for them and the bowl of milk was in my hand. I kept on waiting for them to get up till the day dawned and my children began crying at my feet out of hunger. They then got up and drank the milk. O Allah! If I did that for your pleasure only, please relieve us from our critical situation caused by this rock.” So, the rock shifted a little but they could still not get out.

The second man said: “O Allah! I had a cousin who was the dearest of all people to me and I wanted to have sexual relations with her but she refused. A while later she was in difficulty due to a famine and she came to me. I gave her one-hundred-and-twenty Dinars on the condition that she would not resist my desire, and she agreed. When I was about to fulfill my desire with her, she said: ‘Fear Allah! It is illegal for you to destroy my chastity except by legitimate marriage. So, I left her though she was the dearest of all the people to me, and also I left the gold I had given her. O Allah! If I did that for your pleasure only, please relieve us from this calamity we find ourselves in.’ So, the rock shifted a little more but still they could not get out from there.”

Then the third man said: “O Allah! I employed a few labourers and I paid them their wages with the exception of one man who did not take his wages and went away. I invested his wages and it increased substantially. After some time he came and said to me: ‘O slave of Allah! Pay me my wages.’ I said to him: ‘All the camels, cows, sheep and slaves you see, are yours.’ He said: O slave of Allah! Don’t make fun of me.' I said: I am not making fun of you. So, he left driving with him all of the herd and left nothing. O Allah! If I did that for your pleasure only, please relieve us from our present suffering.’ So, the rock shifted completely and they could finally walk out of the cave. (Bukhari and Muslim)

MORAL: Doing things for the pleasure of Allah Azza Wajal should be the basis of a Muslim's actions. Actions done for show, name and fame only bring disgrace. Actions done for the pleasure of Allah Azza Wajal stand the test of time and are greatly loved by Allah Azza Wajal.

A THOUGHT
No one is born learned, but knowledge is only the result of learning. Ibn-al—Mubarak RA was asked, “What constitutes humanity?” To which he replied, “The learned”. It was then said, “And who are the kings?” He answered, “The ascetics”. And who,” he was asked, “constitute the lowest class among men?” “Those,” said he, “who, in the name of religion, grow fat in the world.” Thus only the learned did [ibn-al--Mubarak] regard as belonging to humankind, because it is knowledge which distinguishes humans from the other animals.

THE SMILE
Jane calls the doctor in a panic. “Doctor, doctor! My little Jimmy swallowed a dozen aspirin. What should I do?” The doctor asked Jane, “Are you sure it was a dozen?” The frantic mother says, “Absolutely! Doctor, I'm scared to death!” The doctor tells the mother, “Calm down. Is little Jimmy .crying?” Jane says “No.” “Is he sleeping?” asks the doctor. “No” says Jimmy's mom. The doctor goes on with routine questions, “Is his colour funny?” Again Jane says “No.” “Did Jimmy throw up?” asks the methodical doctor. “No.” says the worried mom. “But I'm so scared. All that aspirin... shouldn't I do something?”

To which the doctor says, “Try giving him a headache.”
