SUNNAH, PRACTISES OF MUHAMMAD SAW
GHUSL CONTINUED…

Both actions, i.e. to dry the body with a cloth / towel or to leave it wet, are Masnoon, so whichever of the two modes you choose, make the intention of following the Sunnah. (Mishkaat)
Salaah can be performed after the Ghusl. There is no need to perform fresh Wudhu, regardless of the fact that one was naked during Wudhu /Ghusl. (Tirmithi)
If the Wudhu breaks after the Ghusl, then a fresh Wudhu will be necessary.

THE MESSAGE
Secular Humanism

----------------

"We made for you a law, so follow it and not the fancies of those who have no knowledge"

The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the 10th December 1948. Human Rights enshrine three cardinal values: Equality - Freedom - Dignity. However, if these laudable values are void of a religious, moral and ethical hue, they may perpetuate the very vices they were designed to eradicate. If Human Rights are not made subordinate to Divine Law, if there are no checks and balances, they may well serve as the catalyst for Secular Humanism.

Secular Humanism is a term that has evolved in the last thirty years to describe a worldview that is based upon:

A conviction that dogmas, ideologies and traditions, whether religious, political or social, must we weighed and tested by each individual and not simply accepted because of "faith".

A commitment to use critical reasoning, and factual evidence, rather than faith and mysticism, in seeking solutions to human problems; and, An understanding that there are no absolutes, no eternal truths and no need for religion.

The Humanist Manifesto: "We believe that traditional dogmatic or authoritarian religions that place revelation, God, ritual, or creed above human needs and experience do a disservice to the human species… We find insufficient evidence for belief in the existence of a supernatural; it is either meaningless or irrelevant to the question of survival and fulfillment of the human race. As non-theists, we begin with humans not God, nature not deity."

The Standard: "Humanists do not rely upon gods or other supernatural forces to solve their problems or provide guidance for their conduct. They rely instead upon the application of reason, the, lessons of history and personal experience from an ethical/moral foundation and to create meaning in life. Secular humanists look at the methodology of science as the most reliable source of information about what is factual or true about the universe we all share."

Moral values: "We affirm that moral values derive their source from human experience. Ethics is autonomous and situational, needing no theological or ideological sanction. Ethics stem from human needs and interest."

Human Rights in the South African context are enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Whilst the Bill guarantees the dignity and integrity of individuals, it also regulates religious freedom. Ironically, the very provision tailored to guarantee freedom might in reality inhibit that very right.

"He commands them with that which is just and forbids them from that which is evil. He permits for them as lawful what is good and prohibits them from what is bad. He relieves them from their heavy burden and releases them from the yokes that upon them."

Islam is not a mass of dogmatic rituals, nor does it suppress the application of reason, or scientific exploration. It views man as the sublime vicegerent of Allah on earth, who is obliged to carry out His injunctions. It does not allow for the separation of law and religion; Divine Law precedes both the society and the State. Virtue according to Islamic Law lies in living in conformity with the Law of Allah, which guarantees the sanctity of life, the equality and dignity of man. His Law is inherently perfect and compatible; aversion to His word simply fetters the mind and corrupts the soul. The tidal waves of immorality, crime, and corruption throughout the 'liberated world' are grim reminders of the dire consequences of Secular humanism.

"The Authority rests with none but Allah. He commands you not to surrender to anyone save Him…

DUA (PRAYER)
AOOTHU BIKALIMAATILLAHIT TAAMMAATI MIN SHARRI MAA KHALAQ. “I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of everything which He created.”

BENEFIT: One will be protected against all harm and evil by reciting this Dua.

AND… FOR THE KIDDIES
The Kaaba is built

Then Ebrahim AS stayed away from Hajira & Ismael AS for a period as long as Allah wished and called on them again but did not find Ismael. So he came to Ismael's wife and asked her about Ismael. She said: 'he has gone in search of our livelihood.' Ebrahim AS asked her; 'how are you getting on?' asking her about their sustenance and living. She replied: 'we are prosperous and well off (we have everything in abundance).' then she thanked Allah. Ebrahim AS said: 'What kind of food do you eat?' she said: 'meat.' he said: 'what do you drink?' she said: 'water.' he said: 'O Allah! Bless their meat and water."

The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam added: "At that time they did not have grain, and if they had grain he would have also invoked Allah to bless it. If somebody has only these two things as his sustenance, his health and disposition will be badly affected unless he lives in Makkah."

The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam continued: "Then Ebrahim AS said to Ismael's wife: 'When your husband comes give my regards to him and tell him that he should keep firm the threshold of his gate.'

When Ismael came back he asked his wife, 'did anyone call no you?' she replied: 'yes, a good looking old man came to me,' so she praised him and added: 'He asked about you and I informed him that we were in a good condition.' Ismael asked her:' did he give you any piece of advice?' She said; 'yes, he told me to give his regards to you and ordered that you should keep firm the threshold of your gate.' on that Ismael said: 'It was my father, and you are the threshold of the gate. He has ordered me to keep you with me.'

Then Ebrahim AS stayed away from them for a period as long as Allah wished and called on them afterwards. He saw Ismael under a tree near Zam Zam, sharpening his arrows. When he saw Ebrahim AS, he rose up to welcome him (and they greeted each other as a father does with his son or a son does with his father). Ebrahim AS said: 'O Ismael! Allah has given me an order.' Ishmael said: 'Do what your Lord has ordered you to do.' Ebrahim AS asked: ‘Will you help me?' Ismael said: 'I will help you.' Ebrahim AS said: 'Allah has ordered me to build a house here,' pointing to a hillock higher than the land surrounding it.

"Then they raised the foundations of the House (the Kaaba). Ishmael brought the stones while Ebrahim AS built and when the walls became high Ismael brought this stone and put it for Ebrahim AS who stood over it and carried on building. While Ismael was handing him the stones, and both of them were saying: "Our Lord! Accept this service from us, verily; You are the All Hearer, the All Knower." (Ch 2:127 Quran)

The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam added: "Then both of them went on building and going round the Kaaba saying: "O our Lord! Accept this service from us, verily; You are the All Hearer, the All Knower."; (Sahih Bukhari).

RECIPE
BALTI CHICKEN
Ingredients

2 tblsp oil - 1 ½ kgs boneless chicken breast – cut into 1 inch cubes - 2 cups balti sauce - 1 bell pepper diced - 1 small onion sliced - 1 ripe tomato chopped - 1 tblsp dried methi bajee leaves chopped, dhana leaves, sprinkle of garam masala - Lemon Wedges and mango chutney for garnish.

Method
Heat wok or nonstick sauté pan over medium heat. Add oil, when hot add chicken and stir fry until browned. Add remaining ingredients except salt and garnish and stir fry until hot and bubbling. Lower heat and cook 15 to 20 minutes stirring occasionally. If sauce looks to dry add ¼ cup water. Add salt to taste. Garnish with Dhana leaves sprinkle of garam masala lemon wedges and chutney.

COOKING TIP
To crush chillies fine, run in a small electric grinder with a pinch of salt. This will remove with a rubber spatula. This will save a lot of time on chopping, as also it will keep the hands safe from handling chillies. Even one or two chillies can be done easily this way.

A THOUGHT
“I respect you.”

Respect is another way of showing love. Respect conveys the feeling that another person is a true equal. If you talk to your children as if they were adults you will strengthen the bonds and become close friends. This applies to all interpersonal relationships. Hence, tell your colleague sitting next to you ‘I respect you.’

THE SMILE
A retired man who volunteers to entertain patients in nursing homes and hospitals went to one local hospital and took his portable keyboard along. He told some jokes and sang some funny songs at patients' bedsides. When he finished he said, in farewell, “I hope you get better.” One elderly gentleman replied, “I hope you get better, too.”
